About James Miller
James (Jamie) Miller is an Australian-American author, commentator, president, and founder of the blog and YouTube channel, Citizen of the Republic, LLC.
He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School, and his Bachelor of Arts, in Political Science, from Kenyon College.
Born to an Australian mother and an American father (veterans, turned educators), Jamie was raised in a household that not only evinced the virtues of duty, honor, and country, but one which also fostered a lifelong passion, and appreciation for travel, art, and foreign cultures. To date, he has lived in five states, two countries (Australia, and the United Kingdom) and has traveled to ten other nations (with hopes to travel to many more!).
Speaking, and writing, from beneath the rugged slopes of the Rocky Mountains of the American West (from his adoptive state of Colorado, where his family was stationed when he was two years old), Jamie brings his life experience, and comparative international perspective to bear on the pressing issues facing our democracy while seeking to be a voice for moderation in an age endemic with extremes.
A former college rugby player, who dabbled in Shakespearean theatre back in the day, Jamie enjoys traveling, reading, writing (he has written a fantasy book set in the Australian bush which he is currently in the process of obtaining a publisher for), theatre, running, basketball, horseback riding, and doting upon a rather rambunctious West Highland White Terrier ‘Westie,’ named MacIntosh, in his spare time.
